Avast, ye scurvy dogs!

This morning I sent the boys out into 45 degree weather clad only in t-shirts, all for the sake of a cute photo. (Further evidence of my questionable parenting: it was 9:30 am and they weren't breakfasted...) They have been enjoying their "new" play structure (thank you, Craigslist!), although I have yet to determine the appropriate punishment for a boy who pushes his brother face-first down the slide into

the rocks. After all, a child who is lying face down on the slide is probably going to slide down anyway, right? Really, should someone who helped him down get a time out? Ah, so many questions... The most amazing aspect of the pirate game at our house--Koen is always the captain!

Any one for glamping?

No more tent camping for us...we've entered the glamorous world of RV'ing.  We purchased this fabulous 26-foot Sierra Komfort travel trailer from one of Kirk's co-workers, and we're looking forward to many happy trips. Our inaugural voyage was to the Olema (affectionately called "Oh-Lame-Uh") Resort Campground near lovely Point Reyes (just north of San Francisco). We enjoyed fresh-baked cookies from the oven, watched videos on the TV, and just hiked up the heater when we got cold at night...at moments I wondered if we could have just stayed home.

Here are the boys on the beach at Point Reyes.  It was an amazing day for January: reasonably warm and perfectly still.  We chased sand pipers, dug holes, and smashed carefully-crafted sand fire engines.
